Global AI Conference, April 23-25 2019, Seattle, Washington

April 19, 2019 By admin

Maana, the pioneer of digital knowledge technology, today announced its Chief Scientist, Dr. Steven Gustafson, will present a research paper about automated machine learning (AutoML) for data science productivity at the Global AI Conference, April 23-25, in Seattle, Washington.

Speaking alongside AI leaders at Microsoft, Amazon and Facebook, Dr. Gustafson will present a paper that discusses why AutoML goes beyond parameter optimization to become a source of critical knowledge capture. Also included is how the more “assistive” approach to AutoML helps data scientists discover different methods within the entire machine learning pipeline, as well as create a knowledge graph of results that can be mined and explored to gain knowledge and connect with other individuals who are also searching for machine learning pipelines.

“At Maana, we developed the AutoML capability to help data scientists and software developers build quality analytics quickly in such a way that they learn about how their data and the analytics work together,” said Dr. Gustafson. “It is an honor to stand beside leaders across the AI industry to share Maana’s research and the AI-driven services we are using to help companies accelerate digitization of operational decisions across their entire enterprise.”

As Chief Scientist, Dr. Gustafson oversees research and data science at Maana. Previously, he spent over ten years at General Electric’s Global Research Center in New York, developing novel solutions for massive-scale, click-stream log mining for media and industrial equipment businesses, open source intelligence, and network analysis for the intelligence communities.

As the largest vendor agnostic conference in the AI space with more than 3,000 registered attendees, the three-day event provides insights and potential solutions to address AI issues from well-known experts and thought leaders through panel sessions and open Q&A discussions.
