January 29, 2024 By admin

400 exhibitors and 250 experts tackle the challenges many industries face

Barcelona, 29 January 2024 -IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), the leading global event on industry transformation through the use of disruptive technologies, will showcase the latest advances and trends in this field. From May 21 to 23, Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue will host more than 400 exhibitors and 250 experts and will become the epicentre of modernisation in the manufacturing sector.

The eighth edition of the show has structured the 125 talks on its programme around four major challenges: Technology-enabled transformation, Climate change and sustainability, Regulations and standards, and Security and cybersecurity. The conferences will delve on how these challenges can find solutions in IoT (Internet of Things), Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, Edge Computing, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, 5G connectivity, Renewable Energy, Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics and Process Robotics.

The conferences, curated by the International Society of Automation (ISA), include leading experts such as Elisa Rönkä, Global Director of SaaS Sales for Digital Buildings at Siemens; Lucy Han, executive vice president of Building and Home Automation Solutions at ABB; Megan Samford, Director of Product Safety at Schneider Electric; Madhu Pai, technical director of Global Partner Manufacturing at Amazon Web Services; Soloman Almadi, senior engineering consultant at Saudi Aramco; or Didem Ün Ates; operational advisor in Artificial Intelligence at Goldman Sachs.

The director of the IOTSWC, Marc Tarragó, stated that “our event brings together the entire technological ecosystem at a global level so that the industry can take advantage of the power of technology with the aim of being able to overcome its greatest challenges.”

Leading transformational companies
The exhibition area will feature over 400 leading companies in the field of transformative solutions such as ABB, Digicet, Emnify, Faircom, KNX, iot squared, ST Microelectronics and Txone. The IOTSWC offer is completed with a specific area for the semiconductor sector, a Testbed Zone, a Startups Pavilion, the Women and Diversity in Industry space, and the Garden, the show’s networking environment.

The event has been designed under sustainability and circularity criteria, using recycled and reusable materials. According to data from Statista, the Internet of Things is on a steady upward trend, with 16.7 bilion connected devices worldwide in 2023 and 19.2 bilion forecasted en 2024.

IOTSWC 2024 will be held together with the fourth edition of the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress, an annual event co-organised with the Government of Catalonia whose main goal is to spread the culture of cybersecurity to all industries.
