Dremio, the innovation leader in data lake transformation, announces the speaker lineup and full agenda for Subsurface LIVE Winter 2021, a two-day, live conference about the future of the cloud data lake industry. The virtual event takes place January 27-28, 2021, and features keynotes from senior executives of AWS, Tableau and Dremio, as well as 30+ technical sessions on the open source innovations, trends and strategies driving cloud data lake transformation and architectures. Register for the free event and view the full speaker lineup here.

Cloud services such as Amazon S3 and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) have become the default data stores in the cloud, enabling a vibrant ecosystem of technology providers and open source innovations. Discussions at Subsurface LIVE Winter 2021 will provide both the technical knowledge and best practices required to be successful with a cloud data lake initiative. The conference features talks from the creators and implementers of the latest open source and cloud technologies for data management, data transformation, data quality, data transfer, data visualization and more.

Attendees will hear from keynote speakers including:

Francois Ajenstat, chief product officer at Tableau
Mai-Lan Tomsen Bukovec, global vice president, block and object storage at AWS
Jeff Ma, a leader of the MIT Blackjack team, author of “The House Advantage: Playing the Odds to Win Big In Business” and vice president, startups at Microsoft
Tomer Shiran, founder and chief product officer at Dremio
Billy Bosworth, CEO of Dremio
Additional technical sessions from Netflix, Adobe, Microsoft, Telenav, Veraset, USAA and more will highlight the innovation that is fueling the adoption of new architectures at such a rapid pace. Speakers will also discuss innovations in open source technologies such as Apache Iceberg, Amundsen, InfluxDB IOx, dbt and Apache Parquet. AWS and Dremio are Diamond Sponsors of the conference.

Attendees of Subsurface LIVE Winter 2021 will have the opportunity to:

Increase their level of data architecture expertise through informative talks, demos and real-world use cases.
Learn how open source and open standards are accelerating data architecture innovation by hearing from project creators, key contributors and industry adopters.
Gain knowledge from a vibrant community of data experts who are building the cloud data lakes of tomorrow.
“Subsurface is a conference by practitioners, for practitioners,” said Tomer Shiran, co-founder and chief product officer at Dremio. “Data architects and engineers will take away deep knowledge from open source and cloud technology innovators, insights from technology company executives around their own data lake implementations and hear keynotes by senior executives in the industry. Data warehouse administrators will also find the content relevant as they keep pace with the rapidly advancing capabilities of modern cloud data lakes.”

Subsurface LIVE Summer 2020 marked the first event with more than 5,000 participants and discussions with open source and technology leaders. You can watch presentations from last year’s conference here.
