The Design Automation Conference (DAC) returns for its 56th year with a stellar line up of visionary Keynotes and SKYtalks. Founded in 1964, DAC is the longest running and largest event focused on research and technology for the design and automation of electronic circuits and systems. With more than 6,000 attendees from academia, research, government, and industry, the conference is recognized as the event that attracts the entire system design and development ecosystem. The majesty of this event comes from the combination of a technically strong research track conference along with an exhibition of over 170 industry providers.
The Keynote and SKYtalk (mini-keynotes) presentations are a focal point at the event, which will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, June 2 – 6, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This year’s Keynote and SKYTalk speakers are:
“Hors D’Oeuvres from Chaos” by Thomas Dolby, Musician, Producer & Innovator, John Hopkins University
“From Student Project to Tackling the Major Challenges in Realizing Safe & Sustainable Electric Vehicles” by Bas Verkaik, SPIKE Technologies
“Reverse Engineering Visual Intelligence” by James DiCarlo, MD, Ph.D., Massachusetts Institute of Technology
In addition to the Keynotes, DAC 2019 will host inspiring SKYTalks:
“Cutting Edge AI: Fundamentals of Lifelong Learning and Generalization” by Hava T. Siegelmann, DARPA
“The Memory Futures” by Gurtej S. Sandhu, Micron Technology
“Incorporation of Security into Chip Design” by Serge Leef, DARPA
The DAC 2019 research track program and designer tracks broke records for the total number of paper submissions and accepted papers. DAC 2019 research track experienced an impressive 18 percent increase in submissions across the conference topic areas on design, embedded systems and software, autonomous systems, IP, security and machine learning.
Designer track submissions increased by 10% overall. The number of Machine Learning and AI architecture research papers grew by 68% from 2018.
DAC offers outstanding training, education, exhibits and networking opportunities for hardware and software designers, researchers, software developers, IT engineers and software tool vendors who attend. Advance registration, which offers attendees substantial discounts, is open now until May 10, 2019.
Registration for the I Love DAC free three-day pass sponsored by Avatar Integrated Systems, ClioSoft, and Truechip is open now through May 17. Check out the conference program for more information on the Research track, Designer track, IP track and other sessions at the 56th DAC.
About DAC
The Design Automation Conference (DAC) is recognized as the premier event for the design of electronic circuits and systems, and for electronic design automation (EDA) and silicon solutions. A diverse worldwide community of more than 1,000 organizations attends each year, represented by system designers and architects, logic and circuit designers, validation engineers, CAD managers, senior managers and executives as well as researchers and academicians from leading universities. Close to 60 technical sessions selected by a committee of electronic design experts offer information on recent developments and trends, management practices and new products, methodologies and technologies. A highlight of DAC is its exhibition and suite area, with approximately 200 of the leading and emerging EDA, silicon, and intellectual property (IP) companies and design services providers. The conference is sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and is supported by ACM’s Special Interest Group on Design.
