3rd Annual Algae World Summit, May 23-25, 2011, San Diego

Infocast’s 3rd Annual Algae World Summit returns to San Diego, May 23-25, 2011. This year’s edition of the Algae World Summit will unite key players across the value chain with algae developers, vendors, scientists, investors, distributors and end-users sharing the most cutting edge breakthroughs in algae production for fuels, chemicals, food and animal feed, and pharmaceuticals.

New biofuel report released – Global Biofuel Production Forecast

An impressive list of leading corporate strategists confirmed for the Algae World Summit include representatives from General Motors, Albemarle, Cargill, Henkel, UOP Honeywell, and SAIC, with more slated to join. In addition, Arizona State University, Sandia National Laboratories, and UCSD’s San Diego Center for Algae Biotechnology headline a wealth of distinguished institutions scheduled to deliver key research updates during the Summit.

A New Algae Value Chain Has Expanded Beyond the Core Biofuels Discussion, Placing a New Urgency on Biosciences Breakthroughs, Scale-Up Strategies and Co-Product Opportunities

This year the Algae World Summit will be co-located with the inaugural edition of Metabolic Design 2011. As part of this special value added feature, Algae World Summit registrants will receive a complimentary “dual summit pass” offering unprecedented access to two concurrent, cutting edge innovation events for one price. Metabolic Design 2011 will feature global innovators on the forefront of synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, genomics and beyond, highlighted by a special keynote presentation from renowned firm Synthetic Genomics.

The Annual Algae World Summit will kick off with a Pre-Summit Workshop titled Algae 101 on the morning of May 23. Algae 101 will offer a comprehensive look at emergent algal segments, covering feedstocks, R&D, production and commercialization, along with a map of key players in the algal community. The Algae World Summit follows Algae 101, launching in the afternoon of May 23rd and running through May 25th.
