AccelerateAB, Alberta’s Flagship Technology Conference,April 16th, 2019, TELUS Convention Centre, Calgary, AB

December 4, 2018 By admin

AccelerateAB, Alberta’s most sought-after technology conference to brings together entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators from all over Canada, is excited to announce the theme “Data: Alberta’s New Energy” for 2019, and its inaugural call for speakers.

The latter is particularly of note as it is the first time AccelerateAB is doing a public call for speakers in an attempt to engage the technology community early in the planning process for 2019. The call for speakers opens today and will close on January 15, 2019.

“AccelerateAB is proud to be known for presenting high caliber speakers and local success stories,” said Cynthia van Sundert, Executive Director of The A100. “With the growth of the community over the years, and the way that the traditional technology conference has changed, it was time to shake up AccelerateAB’s format to feature 20-minute high impact keynotes, enabling us to showcase a wider range of local and international subject matter speakers related to this year’s theme – Data: Alberta’s New Energy.”

As technology startup and scale-up companies know, any organization must be nimble and listen to the market in order to continuously bring value to its stakeholders. The changes to the format of the main day of the AccelerateAB conference come on the heels of the success of updating the long-standing Startup Advising Sessions format the year before. Powered by The A100, the Startup Advising Sessions are one of the most valuable experiences for startups from all over Alberta. Company applications for the Startup Advising Sessions will open on January 15, 2019.

Also of note, new this year is the inclusion of a Women in Tech Track at the conference. “As women in technology is one of the most important issues facing the industry today, this track will focus on accelerating, supporting, and learning from Alberta’s amazing female entrepreneurs,” says van Sundert.

Tickets for AccelerateAB 2019 will go on sale on January 15, 2019. The conference takes place April 16th, 2019. For more information about AccelerateAB please visit www.AccelerateAB.com.
