The IOT Solutions World Congress and Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress, May 21-23, 2024, Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue

February 3, 2023 By admin

Interviewer: Hello, I am here today with the Director of IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), Roger Bou. Could you tell us about the recently closed edition of the IOTSWC and its highlights?

Roger Bou: Of course, the IOTSWC 2023 edition just closed its doors after three days of intense activity at the Gran Via venue. We had over 330 exhibitors, 172 conferences and sessions, and more than 250 experts. This year, we had a 30% increase in attendance with more than 15,500 visitors who were able to see the latest innovations in disruptive technologies such as the Internet of Things, Digital Twins, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented and Virtual Reality and 5G connectivity.

Interviewer: That’s amazing. Who were some of the leading companies and speakers that participated in this year’s edition?

Roger Bou: We had a great lineup of leading companies such as ABB, Amazon Web Services, STMicroelectronics, Deutsche Telekom and others, and some amazing speakers including Séan O’Reagain from the European Commission’s Industry 5.0 Unit, Jessica Poliner of Relayr, and Michael Grieves, the Executive Director and Chief Scientist of the Digital Twin Institute.

Interviewer: It sounds like it was a successful event. Can you tell us about the importance of cybersecurity during the IOTSWC 2023?

Roger Bou: Absolutely, the fourth edition of the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress organized by Fira de Barcelona and the Agència de Ciberseguretat de Catalunya highlighted the critical role of cybersecurity in an increasingly digitalized world. Companies such as Fortinet, Cloudflare, and Telefonica Tech participated, and the event also organized a Hacking Village with workshops and ethical hacking competitions.

Interviewer: That’s great to know. When is the next edition of the IOTSWC and Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress taking place?

Roger Bou: The next edition will take place from May 21st to May 23rd, 2023, at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue.

Interviewer: Thank you for your time, Roger. It was great learning about the IOTSWC 2023 and the highlights of the event.
