The next SPARK Superion Customer Summit is scheduled for April 28 – May 2, 2019, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV

June 19, 2018 By admin

Superion, an industry leader in public sector software solutions, concluded its inaugural Superion SPARK Customer Summit on Friday, June 8, after five days of educational sessions, executive roundtables, product and services announcements, and networking events. Hosted at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Fla., nearly 1,000 customers representing more than 400 public sector agencies across North America came together to discuss current and emerging topics in public administration and public safety and explore cutting-edge technology solutions.

Superion CEO Simon Angove set the tone in his opening keynote remarks, “We’re constantly looking for ways to innovate, to challenge the status quo, and to help our customers do things differently and do things better. We all know that citizen expectations are often fueled by their experiences as consumers. They want the same things from their local governments – information in the palm of their hand, frictionless interactions, transparency and accountability, and they want all this with lower taxes. Yet, local government agencies are often struggling to keep up. They have aging infrastructure and systems and misaligned talent amidst dwindling revenues and budgets. So the challenge becomes, how do you deliver much more with much less? This is where we believe there’s a role for innovative technology to help public agencies do more with less. So our mission that drives us forward is to deliver the industry’s broadest, smartest, most unified cloud solution suite exclusively focusing on public service agencies to help those agencies transform how they operate, to do more with less, and to power amazing public experiences.”

With innovation as the focal point for this year’s event, new products and initiatives took the spotlight during the opening keynote and shaped the narrative over the course of the five-day event. Angove introduced Superion Public Administration Cloud, a unified, cloud-based enterprise suite for finance, HR, asset management, community development, utilities, and citizen engagement. With all components of a government ERP solution delivered within a unified platform, Public Administration Cloud shares common services such as reporting and single sign-on and is delivered as if through a single, web-enabled “pane of glass.” This product launch serves as the keystone of Superion’s cloud-first strategy, and with more than 300 customers already in the cloud, the company expects to lead the public sector market with several cloud-based solutions currently in development.

The spirit of innovation carried into the exhibit hall with Superion Innovation, which showcased prototype solutions from Superion Labs, an innovation center designed to incubate ideas and rapidly prototype new technologies. Crowds lined up to see a prototype heads-up display for patrol cars; strategic forecasting that helps law enforcement strategically allocate officers among recommended, hour-by-hour patrol areas through better data analysis; and a voice-enabled utility billing application that enables residents to check balances, receive text updates, and pay bills via their smart speaker. The recent launch of Superion Labs marks the company’s latest inroad into AI and IoT-powered innovations for the public sector.

Continuing the message of bringing new ideas and new technologies to the public sector, guest keynote speaker, Jennifer Pahlka, founder of Code for America and former U.S. Deputy Chief Technology Officer, encouraged the crowd to create services in an iterative, user-focused, and data-driven way, and discussed the power of combining tech industry practices with public sector values. These practices and values unfolded during 295 educational sessions, 300+ in-person product demos, five executive roundtables, and two advisory boards. Topping the list of highest-attended sessions were roadmap and enhancement discussions of Superion Finance, CAD/GIS mapping, and Records Management.
