AWIP Announces Inaugural Executive Summit to Advance Female Leadership Across Technology Industry, November 7, 2018 in San Francisco

November 6, 2018 By admin

Advancing Women in Product (AWIP), the organization empowering high potential female product and tech leaders through professional education and executive mentorship, is announcing the organization’s inaugural Advancing Women in Product Executive Summit 2018. The summit will take place on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in San Francisco, California with programming designed to help emerging women leaders land more senior roles in tech. The event will feature an intimate networking portion highlighting AWIP’s goals of enhancing personal and professional growth through executive networking and educational opportunities.

Additional featured speakers include Jonathan Oakes, SVP of Product at Fitbit, Meredith Brown, VP of Product at Salesforce, Chris Keene, former VP at VMware and CEO of Teridion, Irina Farooq, VP of Product at Kinetica, Barkha Saxena, VP of Data Science and Analytics at Poshmark, Theresa Vu, Senior Director of Product Management at Splunk, Siobhan Neilland, Senior Leadership Client Lead at AWS, and Vanessa Larco, Partner at NEA. The Executive Summit was made possible by the contributions of DocuSign, Redpoint, Mode Analytics, Magento – Adobe, Coffee Meets Bagel, Kieu Hoang Winery of Napa Valley and the members of AWIP and its ambassador community.

“Women in enterprise technology often run into barriers when moving into leadership roles, and that is what we want to change,” said Nancy Wang, CEO and founder of AWIP. “We are excited to host this event, which provides educational opportunities and advocates for the value of women and minorities represented at all levels of enterprise companies.”

In the technology industry, particularly the B2B sector, women continue to be underrepresented at every stage of the talent pipeline. Since its founding in 2017, AWIP has grown into a global organization with over 3,000 members in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Boston, and Paris – and has helped more than 100 members land new jobs or promotions.

“The future is being built by tech firms in Silicon Valley and beyond,” said Tatyana Mamut, Ph.D., former GM of AWS and Vice President of Product at Salesforce. “Our future depends on advancing women in product into leadership positions.”
