Remaining 2026 Tech Conferences: Black Hat, Dreamforce, Web Summit Lisbon and AWS re:Invent

July 24, 2026 By admin

The first half of the 2026 conference year is already spent. CES came and went in January, Mobile World Congress in March, NVIDIA’s GTC and RSAC within a week of each other later that month, Google Cloud Next in April, Microsoft Build and Cisco Live in a crowded early June. Anyone building a travel budget now is working with what is left — and what is left is unevenly distributed. August carries the security calendar, September belongs to Salesforce, and then almost everything else compresses into a three-week window in November.

August: the Las Vegas security fortnight

Black Hat USA opens the second half. Training courses run August 1 through 4 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, with the peer-reviewed Briefings on August 5 and 6. Briefings remain the closest thing the industry has to a refereed venue for offensive research, and the vendor hall is where enterprise security budgets get shaped for the following year.

DEF CON follows immediately, drawing roughly 30,000 people to a conference that deliberately refuses to behave like one. The Villages model — dedicated spaces for hardware, automotive, social engineering, and AI security — means the substantive content is distributed across the floor rather than concentrated in a keynote track. The two events are usually attended as a single trip.

Ai4 runs August 4 through 6, also in Las Vegas, with passes starting around $1,395. It positions itself as the business-side counterpart to the technical AI conferences: less CUDA optimization, more procurement and deployment.

The through-line across the security week is worth naming in advance. Post-quantum cryptography readiness, autonomous security agents, and the security of AI-driven supply chains have displaced the older ransomware-and-phishing framing almost entirely. Machine identity management — the problem of authenticating software agents that spawn and terminate faster than any human directory can track — is the sleeper topic.

September: Dreamforce

Dreamforce runs September 15 through 17 in San Francisco, with standard passes near $2,299. The 2026 framing is the “agentic enterprise,” which is a continuation rather than a pivot: Salesforce has been pushing Agentforce since 2024, and this edition covers Agentforce 360, Data Cloud, Slack integration, and Tableau analytics. The event draws upward of 40,000 in-person attendees and effectively annexes downtown San Francisco for the week.

For anyone whose organization runs on Salesforce, it is the clearest available view of the roadmap. For anyone who does not, the free Salesforce+ broadcast covers the announcements without the hotel bill.

October: the CIO event

Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo in Orlando is the enterprise leadership fixture of the autumn. Exact dates for the 2026 edition have been less consistently published than the vendor conferences, so confirm before booking. The value here is not the stage content but the peer groups and analyst one-on-ones, which is also why the pricing sits well above comparable events.

November: three weeks, everything at once

Web Summit returns to Lisbon on November 9 through 12. With 70,000-plus attendees from more than 150 countries, it is the largest remaining conference on the calendar and the least vertically specialized — venture, SaaS, fintech, and sustainability tracks running alongside a startup floor where AI has been the dominant exhibiting category for several years running. For European and Middle Eastern attendees it is also by far the cheapest large event to reach.

Microsoft Ignite follows at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, November 17 through 20, in hybrid format. The agenda is built around Microsoft 365 Copilot, Agent 365, Azure, and security. With Build already complete for the year, Ignite is where the enterprise rollout guidance lands rather than the initial announcements.

AWS re:Invent closes the year in Las Vegas, November 30 through December 4, at $1,299 early-bird and $2,499 standard. More than 1,000 technical sessions across five days, anchored by the CEO keynote and this year’s emphasis on AI-native platforms and enterprise agent adoption. It remains the largest cloud event by a wide margin.

What is not confirmed

NVIDIA has historically run a second GTC in the autumn alongside the flagship San Jose event in March. The 2026 fall dates have not been firmly published. For anyone tracking accelerated computing or the semiconductor supply chain specifically, that is the calendar entry most worth watching, particularly given the volume of order backlog and platform news that came out of the March edition.

The practical read

Three patterns are worth noting for planning. First, virtual and expo-only passes have quietly become the default for most attendees — GTC, Ignite, and Dreamforce all stream substantial portions at no cost, and several smaller events offer free expo access. Second, hotel inventory in Las Vegas and San Francisco during the peak weeks now prices higher than the conference passes themselves. Third, the November compression means that anyone attending more than one of Web Summit, Ignite, and re:Invent is looking at three weeks of near-continuous travel.

After that, the cycle resets. CES opens in Las Vegas in January 2027, and the whole calendar starts over.
