NeurIPS 2026 does something new. For the first time the top machine learning research conference runs at three sites: Sydney from December 6 to 12, Atlanta from December 8 to 13, and Paris from December 9 to 13. Workshops close out each site’s week.
NeurIPS has grown so big that one venue, and one set of visas, no longer works for everyone. Splitting it across three continents makes it easier for researchers from Asia-Pacific, the Americas and Europe to attend, and it’s backed by the largest organizing committee the conference has had. The general chairs are Hsuan-Tien Lin and Razvan Pascanu.
The core is still peer-reviewed research. Papers presented here often turn up in products a year or two later. Around the papers is a huge industry presence: AI labs recruiting, startups demoing, and investors trying to spot the next research team worth backing.
If you want to know where AI is going rather than where it is, NeurIPS is the place to look.
